Something funny happened on the way home from the Saturday evening NA meeting..... Michael and I had to drive thru a Check Stop.....it was perfect how the Officer questioned me. He said "good evening Ma'am......how long has it been since you had any alcohol?". I looked him straight in the eyes and said...."SEVENTY-ONE days!!!!!!!!!!!" His eyes got big and he smiled as he said.."71 days?.....have a good evening..." Michael and I roared laughing. That was so awesome!!!!
Well today is my second time making it to the 3 month mark. I can honestly say that these 3 months were a heck of a lot easier than the 1st 3 months. It feels great to be sober and to experience life every day, the good days and the bad days. It's nice to wake up in the morning with a clear head, and clear memories of the day before. No more hangovers. No more memory loss. No more cravings and no more obsession. So this is what it's like to be sober...I like it and I'm looking forward…

Back to Step One........powerless over alcohol....
My worst fear happened last night....the obsession of the mind. I slipped. At least that's what I'm calling it for now. Not a relapse because it is done, hopefully to never happen again. I left a meeting with an obsession that I could not control. I don't know where it came from. It was like as if I was someone else. Everything I had learned, I had forgotten. Maybe I just needed a reminder that drinking is no longer "fun". I…

Although aromatherapy should not be considered a miracle cure for
serious emotional issues, the use of essential oils may assist, sometimes
greatly, with particular emotional issues and emotional states. Additionally,
the proper use of essential oils may enhance your emotional outlook and provide
support and help balance your emotions during the day. The use of essential oils

My husband and I smudged tonight. I have been feeling very overwhelmed with life for the past few days and smudging was long overdue. Needless to say, I feel much better now..relaxed and at ease. I found the following on the internet so I could give my husband a better understanding of what smudging is and does. Now he likes to smudge too.

Hi Deb,
what a cool blog to be part of. I am sure feeling the withdrawal affect of leaving the Ranch. Today will be better with an AA meeting not far from the house. Later this afternoon there is a farewell party for my old boss at work. It will be fun to reconnect with my old colleagues. Finding a purpose in work or in servicer is my next focus.
Congrats on 71+ days! I would loved to have seen the police officers face at the check stop. You rock!

Hi Deb
Family support weekend was awesome!!! Lots of good stuff that was learned as well as having fun doing it. And Jenny and I haven't had fun in a while!!!! Jenny really enjoyed it, and got lots out of it, which made me really happy as I was real nervous of what she might get out of it. We are a lot closer now then we ever where!!! Went out for breakfast with Chris yesterday and it was pretty good catching up with him.
Stay in touch please. I feel this is a safe place to chat.

Hey my friend Deb,
I spent 4 nights in Windermere & got home Monday - still a little tired & decompressing, but sober! Are you back at work this week? We're having some lovely weather so I hope to get some windows washed that didn't get done all spring & summer. Jim & Ash graduate today - did you see them last night Keep well - love, Twig
Hey Deb!
I am doing very well, I cut back my school load for this semester and I decided I am going back to finish my degree in Winnipeg! So hopefully I will be back there in January. Laura is going to finish her diploma here and then move out there. It only took me two days after being home to say I really do need to follow my heart and go back to Winnipeg. I am going to lots of meetings they are great in Nelson very nice and welcoming. I take my 60 day chip on Friday. Laura and I are going to Calgary around November 4th, We will be driving through Cranbrook so hopefully we can go out for coffee or something.
How have you been doing? I hope all is well with you!
stay in touch.
